Young ChangeMakers ‐ Caring SG Commuters Grant



Calling all youths! Have great project ideas to make public transport more gracious, caring and inclusive?


The Public Transport Council is partnering with the National Youth Council (NYC) for the Young ChangeMakers (YCM) - Caring SG Commuters Grant! This grant provides seed funding for youths to implement projects for the community and empowers youths to take an active role in fostering a more gracious, caring and inclusive commuting culture in Singapore's public transport system.

  • Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) youths, between 15 and 35 years old who are residing locally.
  • For group applications, a majority of the members should be Singaporean or Singapore PR youths.

 

  • Projects must benefit the Singapore community.
  • Projects should be completed within six (6) months from date of award of the grant.
  • Projects can include initiatives that:
    • Train youths to become advocates of a gracious, caring and inclusive public transport system in Singapore.
    • Develop Singaporeans’ sense of pride and affinity for Singapore’s public transport system.
    • Promote gracious, caring and inclusive behaviour among public transport commuters in Singapore.

 

  • Up to 100% of supported costs, subject to a maximum of $5,000, whichever is lower.
  • Up to 100% of supported costs, subject to a maximum of $7,000, whichever is lower for projects that demonstrate exceeding merits in terms of project scale and/or impact.
  • Grant is solely for the delivery of the project and allowable direct project expenses only.
  • Cash prizes, payment to team members and overseas travel expenses are non supportable costs. Expenses beyond the project period and fundraising expenses for non-fundraising projects do not constitute as direct project cost and will also not be supported under the grant.
  • The grant will be disbursed on a reimbursement basis approximately within eight (8) weeks from the satisfactory submission of the Project Closure Report and supporting documents.

 

  • Applicants should submit their grant application via the OurSG Grants Portal at least eight weeks before the 1st Saturday of project implementation month.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch their ideas at the monthly YCM Open Mic within two months of the grant application.
  • Grant result will be released within one week of the pitching at YCM Open Mic.
  • Successful applicants will receive the Letter of Award via the OurSG Grants Portal within two weeks of grant results.
  • All projects must be completed/implemented within six months.
  • Project Closure Report and required documents are to be submitted via the OurSG Grants Portal within two months upon project completion.
  • The reimbursement of the final grant amount will be done within two months upon submission of documents.
